Two New Designs!

Things have been busy for us over at our Etsy Shop.  We’ve been selling frames to people on the east coast , west coast, and in between!  We’re really excited that people are loving our frames. 

We would like to introduce you to our new designs we’ve just added.  Both of these frames are shown in 11×14 size, and as you’ll see, that makes them SO versatile!  The first is a new variation on our most popular frame, the white vintage distressed frame.  This frame has the same great finish, making it a compliment to baby photos, wedding photos, black and whites, etc.  This new style has a gentle bevel on the front of the frame, giving it a really pretty shape and bringing out the vintage look of the finish even more.

These pictures will give you some ideas about how we’ve been using this frame. 

This first view shows the frame with a 11×14 photo in black and white.  Awesome!

 

 

This next one shows another 11x 14 photograph this time hortizontal and with bright colors. So pretty!

And you can use the frames with a mat for your 8×10 pictures. It really gives a lot of visual presence to a smaller photograph, making a big impact:

And here is something really cute! The same frame, but a mat for a 5×7 photograph. And this one is shown on a small tabletop easel, making a nice disply for a sofa table or a dresser.

Just one more…this shows how beautifully this frame can compliment other art, as well!

This is really exciting for us…a whole new look with a glossy finish! This beautiful black glossy frame has the same bevel on the front, letting it catch the light. This finish is so versatile, letting your photographs or artwork really shine. It’s great for traditional or contemporary designs. Now we’re using it with a photo mat on an 8 X 10 photo. We love this look!

Dogwood Creek Frames is owned by John and Elisabeth, a husband-and-wife team specializing in woodworking. We handcraft each of our beautiful frames ourselves, taking pride in making frames that our customers love to use in their homes. After making photo frames for family and friends as gifts, we decided to take their advice and begin offering them to the public. Elisabeth’s mom is a professional photographer, and she loves these frames so much that she uses them exclusively for her own photographs and for her clients. After years of experience with all types of woodworking, we are excited to be creating these unique frames for you. Our frames come in a variety of styles, colors, and sizes to fit all your needs. Here are some ideas of what we offer:

This is a fun double desk frame.  It comes in two sizes: 5×7/5×5 and 4×6/4×4.  This is a really great frame to get creative with!  You can use it with two complimentary photos, or with a birth announcement/baby’s first portrait…or a graduation announcement with your senior’s cap & gown picture…or a wedding invitation with a photo of the bride and groom…or a child’s first birthday party invitation and a picture of the baby eating that first cake!  The possibilities are endless, and make special, one-of-a-kind gifts.  The square opening really sets it apart as unique and oh-so-cool!

For Christmas, we gave my mom this double frame with a wedding picture in one side and one of the napkins from our reception in the other (we got married in October).  She LOVES it!!! 

This one is my brother, who graduated from high school last spring. How fun would this be for a gift that your senior could take with him/her to college for that new dorm desk?! Or, for mom and dad or grandparents to display a senior picture along with the announcement?

This photo show the angle of the frame. It’s great beause it’s not a flimsy fold-up frame that gets knocked around and falls shut all the time. The angle is perfect for the display of your two images. It looks wonderful on a desk, a table, or a wall shelf.

The following frames are made of 1.5″ wide pine, and come in 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, and 11×14. Here is our single frame in soft, buttery yellow with a brushed-on border of gold for a bit of sparkle. Really pretty… this frame looks so nice with everything!

White is always SO popular. No wonder…just look how this frame looks!

 You can’t go wrong with black…in fact you’ll be delighted at how our gently distressed black frame brings out the best in color and black-and-white photographs!  Use black frames to tie together a wall grouping of varied pictures and portraits, and you’ll be amazed at the impact your images bring to your walls.  If you take a look in some Interior Design magazines, you’ll see how this simple idea can become an incredible focal point for your room.  Over a sofa, up a stairway, over a bed, around an entertainment center…the black frame can tie it all together with lots of “WOW”!

On with the frames!

How’s this for a lovely splash of color? Green is so “in” right now…designers are calling it the new neutral, because it can just go with anything! This little guy is so cute with his blue eyes and blonde hair, and the green frame just adds to the delightful colorful image. Our gently aged green will look great with outdoor photos, too. With blues, reds, beiges…adding green is a natural!

Earlier in this post, you saw our burnt sienna double frame.  And here is our popular burnt sienna single.  Think of it as a rich, warm rustic brown with some autumn leaves thrown in.  The result is a lovely and fun frame which will give you a little color wherever you want!  It coordinates with outdoor photos so nicely, but is classic enough for studio portraits, too.

If you’re looking for something with a little more detail, here’s our single frame with trim.  It comes in all the sizes and colors as our other singles, and is gently aged by hand.  The trim gives this frame a different look, yet it coordinates nicely with our other styles.  Here it is, shown in black:
